Civic leader and philanthropist Doris Stein and her husband Jules Stein, a graduate of the University of Chicago (Ph.B., 1915) and founder of the Music Corporation of America (MCA). In 1966, they established the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, with the goal of preventing blindness and sustaining vision world-wide.
